Just One Thing

We have been thinking about the “just one thing” philosophy, which was made famous by Michael Mosley first as a podcast, then book and currently being aired by the BBC as a mini series. The premise being: find just one thing that you can add or change in your daily routine that will have a big impact on your mental and physical health. The theory is that making small adjustments can lead to big changes, rather than setting yourself unachievable goals.

When The World Feels TOO Big

The world can feel a bit overwhelming sometimes. There are BIG issues going on, from local and national politics, to hate and knife crime, to global emergencies and war. Do you feel like you need to know about all of the above, or do you take the ostrich approach and bury your head in the sand? There is no right or wrong, and we do not plan to go in to any of these major issues here, more to have a think about how we cope with this sense of overwhelm.

Ringing In The Changes

Change can be hard, but also refreshing. So often in life I have only made change when there has been little or no alternative. When I have got to the point where something has to give. In a way that was what happened this time, I needed to earn more, and feel stretched more, so I bit the bullet as it were and leapt into the unknown.

Anyway, December, the month that means lots of socialising, meeting with friends and family, work gatherings to attend…or avoid! For some people this is THE month of the year, for others it comes with lots of anxiety.

Perseverance

Those of you who follow our socials will know that last weekend did not go as planned! After a lot of anticipation we travelled to Birmingham to see a concert which was cancelled less than an hour before it was due to start. We were acutely aware at that point we had a choice – to become disappointed and feel that our weekend was wasted, or to somehow spin it and make the best of a bad situation.
